Lebanon Gleaners

Join us in the fight against hunger.

Lebanon Gleaners welcomes you to a place where compassion meets action.

Together, we can make a difference.

Our Story Begins

Who We Are

Lebanon Gleaners was founded in 1980 by a group of like-minded individuals who saw a need in their community regarding food insecurity, and they decided to help. With the help of Linn-Benton Food Share and Oregon Food Bank our group was created.

Currently the need for food is extremely high with 1 in 4 citizens experiencing food insecurity. The city of Lebanon  experiences a slightly higher rate of 13% of our community experiencing food insecurity. That is why a group like ours is vital to the health of our citizens and surrounding communities.

Our mission is to provide food in a safe environment for all people in need by building a community of like-minded individuals who understand  the ongoing issue of food insecurity.

Our Mission

Lebanon Gleaners, located in Lebanon, Oregon, is a dedicated force in the battle against food insecurity. Our mission is to foster a sense of community by providing secure food access to those in need. We empower individuals to address the critical issue of hunger through awareness and action.

Gleaning

The practice of gleaning the fields is as old as time, and that is an ongoing that continues to today by Lebanon Gleaners Inc, and 13 other gleaning  groups across Linn and Benton counties.

Our group will gladly come out to your fields or your backyards and we will show absolute care as we pick the leftover produce. We are insured and we will provide you with a receipt for the full amount of your generous donation. Call Kay at (541) 979-8180

Donations

We accept donations of cash, non-perishable items, and produce. Donations can be dropped off 8:30 -11:30 on Mondays at our site located 470 West C Street in Lebanon. Pickup of donations can be arranged by calling Kay at (541) 979-8180.

Cash donations from the community and our members help us to serve our community in the best way possible, by purchasing food, paying rent/utilities, providing fuel for pickups from stores and Linn-Benton Food Share warehouse.

New Members:

New members are welcomed to join our group every Monday at 11am. Our group is a "hand up not a hand out" membership organization. Each member that is physically and mentally able to perform four volunteer hours is required to donate those hours to our group, If a person is not able to donate the required hours we are willing to serve you.
